Qualifications

Marcelo Pinto is Advisory Services Partner at Grant Thornton Argentina. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), and he also has a degree in Systems Organization Information. 

He has a diploma in Control and Management of Public Policies from the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO - UNESCO), and certifications in Project Management for Results (PM4R) and Evaluation of Impact of Social Programs from doinGlobal & Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), respectively.

Marcelo has also participated as an attendee and speaker in several courses, workshops and seminars, in Argentina and other countries, including programs of the UBA, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE), IADB, Ministry of Economy of the Nation, Junior Achievement, and different organizations and companies. 

He is member of the Buenos Aires City Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Buenos Aires City (CPCECABA) and its Anticorruption and Sustainability committees, the Circle of Fellows of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange Foundation and the Argentine Association of Ethics and Compliance (AAEC).

Experience

Marcelo has more than 30 years of professional experience, both local and international. The latter includes projects in Chile, Perú, Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Honduras, among others.

He has been involved in international assignments for accounting, controlling, auditing and consulting, managing and leading projects. He has strong expertise in business diagnosis, including financial evaluation and internal process control (COSO), evaluation of improvement of processes and controls in compliance with SOX, internal audit, quality certifications, implementation of processes and systems (COBIT, CMMI, Price2, Agile methodologies), business valuation projects, due diligence and corporate finance and forensic (FCPA regulations).

He has vast experience in Services to the Government and the Public Sector, having performed financial, management, technical and special audits of projects executed by government agencies and co-financed by multilateral and international credit agencies.

Before joining Grant Thornton Argentina, Marcelo worked in different companies and public bodies in the accounting, auditing and controlling divisions (Aguas Argentinas, SIGEN, DGI, among others).
